- Whistle – three blasts to indicate distress (six in the UK and Europe)
- Spool of dental floss – for lowering to the ground to pull a rope up if you crash into a tree

- High energy (adventure racing type) food
- Cling film sandwich wrap (half a roll length)
- Roller bandage
- Supply of essential regular personal medications
